"Fresh Fruits is a follow-up publication from the hugely successful compilation of Japanese teenager street fashion Fruits, first published by Phaidon in 2001"-- Inside of back cover.
Every Sunday until 1998, Omote-sando, the main street in the Harajuku area of Tokyo, was declared a pedestrian heaven or Hoko-tan, and all traffic was banned for the entire day. Japanese teenagers came there in clothes that they had customised themselves to meet their own special requirements. This book presents photographs of these teenagers and their fashions.
